When a loved one dies, we often find ourselves overwhelmed by to-dos. We have a funeral to plan and pay for. We need to close the deceased's accounts and to sort and disperse their personal effects. Searching through drawers and files in order to find relevant paperwork is overwhelming at the best of times, but to have to do so while we are also grieving can feel impossible. My purpose is to help you create a complete guide for your loved ones, covering the many areas of your life that will require attention after your death. When we are finished, you and your nearest loved ones will have the peace of mind of knowing that in the midst of loss, you have given them the small comfort of certainty in the tasks they'll be facing. This is a 2 to 4 hour process.
In our session, we will discuss the process and any questions that you may have before we begin. During this session, you will complete the important tasks of compiling a contact list, making decisions about your arrangements, noting important documents and where they can be found and outlining your beneficiaries along with who they need to contact and what they can expect. We will continue with decisions about heirlooms and personal effects, what to pay, close and cancel, email and social media accounts and more. Compiling all of this information is a daunting task. I will help you to accomplish it, knowing the ease and benefit that your planning will provide your survivors. At the end of our session, you will have a completed book containing everything your loved ones will need to know after your death, and the peace of mind that offers.
